A NEW HOLE WAS BEING DRILLED APPROXIMATELY 1 FT IN DEPTH. OPERATOR STOPPED TO ADD MORE STEEL, STARTED TO ROTATE. WITH RIGHT HAND ON THE STEEL WHEN A PIECE OF SHARP ROCK FELL STRIKING HIS HAND RESULTING IN A CUT WHICH REQUIRED 5 STITCHES.
