Employee was turning a ball valve for the 1.5 inch water hose. The pressure was released quickly and the hose jumped and struck the employee in the right shoulder. This caused a minor sprain and the employee was given 3 days off and returned to work.

While trying to widen the gap in a bushing with a punch and hammer, the punch became dislodged from the bushing and the miner missed target of the punch with the hammer and struck thumb. The result as a split open thumb requiring stitches.
