A wild fire blew through the mine. The fire started off site and because of strong winds quickly engulfed areas such as the bone yard and timber by the rail. There were a few plant supplies and 80 plus ties lost due to the fire.

The chain on drill mast was broken (it was wedged into the top sprocket). When pried loose it pulled his glove into the chain and the sprocket, pinching his right hand, thus requiring 17 stitches.

replacing a tension rod on jaw crusher. He was on the under belt with restricted mobility. While tightening the bolt with an impact wrench and backing up the nut with a box end wrench, his hand slipped off back up wrench. The impact was still engaged and spun the box end wrench striking him just below the lower lip.
