THE VICTIM WAS OPERATING A BATTERY-POWERED SCOOP CLEANING ROADWAY COAL AT THE NO. 2 BLOCK ON FIRST RIGHT PANEL. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN A PORTION OF THE MINE ROOF, MEASURING 30 INCHES THICK A MINUMUM OF 20 FT IN WIDTH, AND EXTENDING AN UNDETERMINED DISTANCE, FELL STRIKING THE VICTIM AND SCOOP. THE HEIGHT OF THE COAL WAS 39 INCHES.
