THE VICTIM WAS STANDING AT SHIELD #124 WITH HIS BACK TO THE COAL FACE WHEN A COAL OUTBURST OCCURRED. COAL LUMPS STRUCK THE VICTIM AND PUSHED HIM INTO THE SHIELDS, CAUSING FATAL INJURIES. THE S HEARER WAS CUTTING COAL AT THE TIME AND THE TAILGATE-SIDE CUTTER DRUM WAS LOCATED AT SHIELD #121. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES. ACTIVITY UNKNOWN AT TIME OF ACCIDENT.
