Drilling hole in rubber gasket which slipped out and struck employee's hand causing laceration on right thumb.

While monitoring a slurry tank pump due to abnormal noise and visible smoke, the employee was positioned in the area when material was unexpectedly expelled from the pump. The employee stepped backward and lost balance, resulting in contact with the ground. The employee reported an abrasion above the right eye and discomfort to the right hip.

Contracted floor hand had laceration to fingers from auger at dry plant. Employee was taken to local hospital where they received stitches in fingers.
