Beatrice Sand & Gravel · Fall from machine

Employee was attempting to use three points of contact when exiting the loader and missed the hand rail causing them to balance and fell about 5' to the ground injuring right upper thigh. It is believed that they broke their femur bone.

Consolidated Sand & Gravel · Struck against a moving object

Miner (wearing seat belt) was leveling the ground using the cutting edge of the loader bucket, when the bucket penetrated the ground, causing a sudden stop of the machine. The operator then struck his chest on the steering wheel. The machine manufacturer provides lap-type seat belts (no shoulder straps).
