El minero estaba limpiando con una barra de hierro el rodillo de la correa en movimiento.La barra se atascó entre el "drum pulley" y la polea. Fue expulsado de la plataforma cayendo al suelo a 8'aprox. Llamó por teléfono a otro empleado para ayuda, y de inmediato los mineros fueron a socorrerlo llamando la ambulancia, el cual lo trasladó al Hospital.
