Rogers Group Inc · Struck by flying object

A set up crew employee was attempting to remove liners from a cone crusher, by striking the liners with a 10 lb sledgehammer. During this process, a shard of the manganese liner chipped off and went into the employee's left forearm. The employee was taken to the emergency room where the shard was extracted, wound was cleaned, and 5 stitches were administered.

Belt crew were pulling conveyor belt on they were putting a belt block on the tight belt when the belt ripped the belt block fell back and hit one of the belt crew members ring finger on his right hand injuring the finger tip.

Employee was fueling up bobcat and reported to supervisor he slipped and fell. Supervisor asked if he was okay and employee said yes. Employee continued to operate the bobcat for the remainder of the shift. Over the weekend he started having pain and went to the emergency room. Employee was told he may have cracked ribs.

EE HAD LOOSENED TENSION SPRING WITH IMPACT WRENCH JACKEDSAW OPEN NEEDED TO LOOSEN SPRING SOME MORE, PUT IMPACT BACK ON NUT, WHEN PULLED TR IGGER ON, IMPACT NUT CAME OFF RELEASING SPRING CAUSING HAND TO BE PINCHED BETWEEN AIR WRENCH & MOTOR FRAME, MASHING THUMB.

INDIVIDUAL WAS CLIMBING A ROADSIDE BERM TO OBSERVE THE BLAST. HE LOST HIS BALANCE AT THE TOP OF THE BERM AND TRIED TO STEP BACK. HE TRIPPED ON A ROCK WHILE GOING BACK AND FELL AGAINST A LARGE ROCK. HE BRUISED HIS BACK IN THE KIDNEY AREA.
