EE WAS WORKING ON A LIME/WATER MIXING TANK. HE STEPPED INTO A HOLE THAT CONTAINED WATER AND THELIME MIXTURE. HIS FOOT WAS COMPLETELY SUBMERGED FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES HE NOTICED HIS FOOT FELT LIKE IT WAS BURNING. HE REMOVED HIS BOOT AND FOUND HIS FOOT AND ANKLE HAD MULTIPLE BURNS ON THEM. HE THEN RETURNED TO OUR SHOP AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT

I NAME WAS HOLDING RUBBER 1" HOSE TO FEEL SAME 20% CAUSTIC SODA INTO A TREATMENT FEED PIPE FORTREATING ACID MINE WATER. THE SOLUTION SPLAHED INTO PIPE THEN INTO HIS FACE. INJURY WAS POSSIBLE S EVERE DAMAGE TO FACE AND EYES. FIRST ADJU CLINCAL AND DR TREATMENT APPARENTLY PREVENTED SERIOUS INJURY.
