EMPLOYEE WASOPERATING BHM EQUIPMENT INSTALLING 2 1/2" CUTTING JET SECTIONS. HE HAD PLACED A HOLDING CLAMP AT THE TOP OF ONE OF THE SECTIONS BUT DID NOT SECURE IT. WHEN THE SECRTION WAS LIFTED THE CLAMP SLID DOWN AND HIT HIS LEFT HAND, INJURING HIS FINGER.

EMPLOYEE LEFT HAND WAS LOCATED ON CHAIS OF DRILL RIG. THE DRILL RIG FOOTSTAND WAS PARTIALLY RAISED TO ALLOW DRAIN PAN MOVEMENT. AFTER PAN WAS MOVED. THE FOOTSTAND AUTOMTICALLY FELL TO ITS INIT IAL POSITION AND MASHED RING FINGER ON LEFT HAND.
