THE INJURY OCCURRED AS THE EMPLOYEE WAS ATTEMPTING TO MOVE AN AUGER FLIGHT BY HAND. HE SLIPPED DUE TO THE WET & MUDDY CONDITIONS AND CAUGHT HIS LEFT RING FINGER BETWEEN TWO AUGER FLIGHTS.

THE INJURIED EE WAS ATTEMPTING TO RAISE AND ALIGN THE KELLY BAR WITH AN ANGER FLIGHT IN ORDER TO COUPLE THEN TOGEHTER. THE EE S HAND SLIPPED ON THE WET BAR ALLOWING HIS LEFT THUMB TO BE STRUCK BY THE AUGER FLIGHT SHANK AND THE KELLY BAR THIE KELLY BAR, THIS RESULTED IN A LACERATION TO THE END OF THE LEFT THUMB AND THE RIPPING AWAY OF THE LEFT THUMB NAIL.
