Boughton Materials Inc · Struck by falling object

Changing drill bit. The manufacturer provided no mechanical or procedural way to insure safety. Operator held the collar up with a piece of wood. Collar rotated with drill bit, moved off support and fell, hitting operator's thumb. Thumb required stitches at urgent care facility.
