SUBJECT WAS OUT ON A BARGE ON THE OHIO RIVER, TIEING OFF THE BARGE ROPE. AS HE WENT TO STEP OVER THE ELEVATED ROPE HE MISJUDGED IT AND TRIPPED ON THE ROPE AND FELL ONTO THE BOW HATCH AND STRUC K HIS LOWER BACK (KIDNEY AREA).

EE WAS ON THE FEEDER BELT CLEANING FROZEN ACCUMULATION OF COAL PARTLES FROM UNDER THE CRUSHER AREA AND A LARGE FROZEN CHUNK OF COAL FELL OFF OF STEEL PLATE ABOVE CRUSHER AND PINNED HIM ACROSS THE MID-SECTION.

SUBJECT SAID HE FELT DISCOMFORT IN HIS EYE (APPR 4PM FRIDAY) BUT DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING ABOUT IT AT THE TIME, BUT AFTER WORKING ALL DAY MONDAY, 9-29-92 IT STARTED TO REALLY HURT. HE WENT TO E ROOM MONDAY EVENING AND THEY FOUND A SMALL PIECE OF METAL.
