THE CONTRACT MECHANIC BEGAN CHANGING OUT A LEFT HOIST CYLINDER ON A 992C CAT LOADER. THE CYLINDER WAS BEING HELD BY BOOM/CABLE SLING FROM MECH'S TRUCK. MECHINIC WAS STANDING ON THE TIRE POSITI ONING CYLINDER. THE CABLE OF THE BOOM WAS ON A BIND. THE CABLE BECAME VERTICAL WHILE THE MECHANIC'S LEFT HAND WAS GUIDING THE CYLINDER WHICH SUDDENLY MOVED PINCHING HIS FINGER BETWEEN METAL.
