EE AND ANOTHER MECHANIC WERE INSTALLING A HYDRAULIC HOIST ON A TRACK BACKHOE. THEY HAD ATTACHED THE HOIST AT THE TOP BUT WERE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE BOTTOM. THEY BOTH REACHED FOR A HAMMER THI NKING THE OTHER WAS HOLDING THE HOIST. THE HOIST MOVED AND STRUCK THE MIDDLE FINGER OF HIS LEFT HAND.

EE WAS STANDING NEXT TO DRAGLINE BUCKET HE WAS HELPING DRAGLINE OPERATOR. CHANGE. THE OPERATOR WAS ATTEMPTING TOSET THE CABLE WEDGE INTHE CLEVIS BY PULLING ON IT. WHEN THE OPERATOR PULLED ON THE CLEVIS, THE CABLE CAME OUT & STRUCK THE INJURED EE ON THE UPPER LIP.
