While attempting to fasten a regulator door on the #1 run of mine feeder, the employees right ring finger was struck by a rock that fell from the top of the hopper to the feeder. This resulted in a laceration requiring (4) sutures and a frature of the distal phalange of the 3rd finger, right hand.

Removing a piece of chutework, the chute became lodged in the hole from which it was being removed from the plant, the ee pryed the chute to free it. Due to the forces of the rigging the chute sank into the ee's left foot when it was freed.

THE ABRASION WAS TREATED AT THE TIME OF THE INJURY. THE EMPLOYEE REPORTED THAT THE ABRASION HAD TURNED IN TO AN OPEN WOUND WHICH BECAME INFECTED ON 10/28/92.
