THREE LONG HOLE8, 50 FT, 25 FT & 18 FT DEEP WERE LOADED WITH EXPLOSIVES. THE HOLES WERE DRILLED OFFTHE SLANT CHUTE IN THE NO. 9 BREAST. A LARGE BOULDER WAS BLOCKING THE SLANT AT THE FIRST MINE HEADING. THIS 6OULDER WAS MUDCAPPED, REPORTEDLY WITH LOOSE COAL. THE LONG HOLES AND MUDCAP WERE FIRED IN ONE SERIES. THE INJURED VICTIM STATED THEY DID NOT TEST FOR METHANE BEFORE FIRING. WHE
