While performing morning pre-shift inspection, employee opened haul truck engine compartment hood when he felt something pull in his shoulder. Originally treated with first aid. Later advised to get an MRI, which showed a rotator cuff injury.
Employee was changing air line under the bin. When the air line was removed, air blew in employees face and stone dust blew into left eye.
Employee of Orica initiated a successful blast. The NYS Police called Callanan's to report a bus had been hit on the NYS Thruway. MSHA was notified. It was determined that a rock pierced the roof of the W bound bus. 3 people were injured: #1 in the neck & back, #2 in the leg. #3 treated for abrasions.
