Employee states he was trying to start the Ingersol-Rand's T30 compressor located on the back of the Red Wing mechanic's truck at Billings. He was priming the carburetor by pouring gasoline over it; some of the gas had dribbled on his hand. As he was turning the on-off switch, the unit backfired; and his hand caught fire.

EE STATES HE WAS IN THE WORKSHOP INSIDE THE COARSE MATERIAL WASHER. HE WAS ASIDE THE SHAFT TRYING TO REMOVE AN OLD BOLT USING A HAMMER AND PUNCH(CHISEL). HE STRUCK DOWNWARD WITH THE HAMMER, IT DEFLECTED AND HIT HIS HAND BETWEEN THUMB AND FOREFINGER.
