Consolidation Coal Company · Fall from scaffolds, walkways, platforms

Replacing hoist jack on 480 Michigan loader. EE positioned himself on platform on front differencial housing w/pry bar to align eye on jack to be pinned. Bar slipped out of eye, causing EE to lose balance and fall from platform to ground, approx 5' landing on his left foot.

EE was getting ready to mount the mechanics service truck he slipped off a small wooden block and fell to the ground he caught himself with his right hand and broke his right wrist.

Laborer was loading his truck. He was climbing down the ladder from the bin he was loading from and hit his elbow on the cage around the ladder. The employee did not report the incident or see a doctor until 12/19/05. The office was not aware that this injury occurred at a mine until 1/6/05.
