Burbank Materials LLP · Caught in, under or between a moving and a stationary object

Belt was turned off. Rock was stuck under belt. EE was using a bar to hit rock to try to knock thru the other side. Rock broke loose & EE's right hand got stuck under belt. A co-worker had to cut the belt to get EE's hand loose. EE was able to move all fingers but was really sore. Went to hospital to have x-rays to check for broken bones. Had swelling & bruising.

EE was working on the left track pin on a 350 Trackhoe with two ratchet booms, one on each side of the track. Co-worker then tapped one of the pins, and the ratchet boom came off at that time and struck EE in the Left eye/bridge of the nose.

Was taking guard off of screen plant and had to reach behind it to take a bolt off. When removing bolt, the front of the screen came loose and the back end swung and pinched finger between screen and frame, lacerating left pointer finger to the bone.

Injured employee was replacing a bearing on plant when he accidentally smashed the outside of his right hand. Mine supervisor took him to the local hospital to be checked out. The hospital wrapped his hand with an ace bandage and the employee returned to work.
