INJURED WAS GRINDING A WELD WHEN A SMALL FRAGMENT OF THE WELD RICOCHETED OFF OF HIS HARD HAT AND UNDER HIS SAFETY GLASSES. ALTHOUGH HE DID NOT REALIZE THE FRAGMENT WAS IN HIS EYE AT THE TIME OF THE INJURY, THE NEXT DAY HE NOTICED AN IRRITATION OF THE EYE AND WAS REFERRED FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION.
