Pocahontas Coal Company LLC · Struck by falling object

Operator installed outside roof bolt and began to swing head in. A piece of rock 18"L X 8" W X 2" thick fell and struck his right hand which he had placed near the drill pot. He sustained a simple fracture to his ring and little finger of his right hand. Medical treatment was to splint (tape them together). This is to report medical treatment only.

While crossing the belt at the #2 tailpiece employee's right foot slipped off the tailpiece causing him to twist his right knee. He continued to work until the day of his surgery.
