Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. · Struck against stationary object

Plant mechanic was removing a pump from the track hoe. He had the 1/2" drive socket and ratchet on the bolt applying downward force when it suddenly broke loose and moved in a downward motion. His left arm brushed another component in the engine compartment and was lacerated just near his elbow. *Requiring four stitches.

EMPLOYEE CAME INTO THE OFFICE AND MADE COFFEE. HE THEN WEN TUP TO THE SHOP & TRDED PESONAL VEHICLE FOR FOREMANS PICKUP AND RETURNED TO THE OFFICE. HE SAT DOWN IN A CHAIR IN THE ENTRANCE WAY. A FEW MINUTES LATER HE SLUMPED OVER. "911" WAS CALLED IMMEADIATELY AND CPR WAS ADMINISTERED UNTIL EMTS ARRIVED. DEATH DID OCCUR.
