EMPLOYEE SLIPPED ON ICY/FROSTY CATWALK/STAIRWAY ON GRAVEL PLANT. FELL AND BRUISED RIGHT FOREARM.

THE CONDITIONS WERE NORMAL. SIMPLE TASK OF INSTALLING A KEY IN A KEY WAY ON A SHAFT. RATHER THAN USING A BAR TO TURN THE SHAFT EE PUT HIS CHEST ON THE 24" DIA COUPLING AND TRIED TO TURN IT BY HAND. THE FORCE APPLIED TO HIS CHEST BY PULLING WITH HIS ARMS CAUSED HIS STERNUM TO POP.
EE WAS STARTING UP THE BOOSTER PUMP. HIS WORK BOAT WAS DOCKED. HE BEGAN THE FLOATING PUMP. HE RETURNED TO THE BOAT AND WENT OVER THE HANDRAILS AT THE EDGE OF THE PUMP INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH THE GATE IN THE RAILS. THE BOAT MOVED WHEN HE STEPPED IN AND HE WAS BRUISED WHIL STILL STRADDLING THE RAIL.

PLANT AND DREDGE OPERATORS SHUT DOWN PRODUCTION TO MOVE SWING LINES ON DREDGE. THE PLANT OPERATOR TOOK WORK BOAT TO GET DREDGE OPERATOR ON LAKE. ON THE WAY BACK THE BOAT DRIVER WAS CHECKING TH E PLUG AT THE BACK OF THE JOHN BOAT AND NOT LOOKING WHERE HE WAS GOING.
