Employee was removing steel liners from hopper. A chipping hammer was used as wedge while cutting and got very hot. After completing removal of liner, he sat the hammer down in front of him and began grinding the old welds. He inadvertently knelt on hot hammer while grinding and jumped releasing hold on grinder. Grinding wheel came in contact with left thumb causing small cut.

Employee walked through woods to examine work area and came into contact with poison ivy. Employee developed contact dermatitis as a result.

The miner was assisting in the clean-up of a diesel fuel leak when he came into contact with poison ivy. The spill had run into a wooded area where poison ivy was present. The employee developed a rash the next day (6/29). On 6/30, the employee received a steroid shot to help dissipate the rash.
