Employee was cleaning an oil container out using brake cleaner, just outside the overhead door for ventilation. The wind kicked up and the cleaner went back in EE's face. EE had on a hard hat, gloves and glasses but a little landed on EE's eyebrow. EE was sweating and it dripped in EE's eye. Rinsed it out with eye wash and was doing ok.

MECHANIC HAD JUST COMPLETED CHANGING A FUEL FILTER ON THE BIN TRUCK. WORK WAS PERFORMED IN THE EQUIPMENT SHOP LOCATED AT THE MINE SITE. WHILE CLOSING THE HOOD, MECHANICS RT. THUMB WAS CAUGHT BETWEEN THE HOOD & THE FRAME RESULTING IN A LACERATION REQUIRING 6 STITCHES. WHILE LOWERING HOOD, MECHANIC WAS ASSISTED BY ANOTHER EE(BIN TRUCK DRIVER) ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF VEHICLE.
