MINER WAS POKING MILL FEED AT HOPPER AND PRY-BAR GOT CAUGHT IN FEED AND PULLED HAND AGAINST METAL EDGES OF HOPPER OPENING. THE RESULTING FORCE SMASHED THE FINGER, RESULTING IN THE INJURY. THE FINGER WAS TREATED WITH ABOUT SEVEN SUTURES. THE MINER HAS FULL USE OF FINGER INJURED. EMPLOYEE WAS ELIGIBLE TO RETURN TO WORK THE NEXT DAY.

EMPLOYEE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF LOADING A BARGE IN DEW LIKE CONDITIONS, WHEN HE JUMPED FROM ONE BARGE TO ANOTHER, APPROX 2 FT DOWN WHEN HE SLIPPED AND FELL. EMPLOYEE SUSTAINED INJURY TO LOWER BACK.
