Grinding on a flange when a piece of steel got into the employee's right eye. He was wearing his shield and glasses. Steel was not embedded; used antibiotic eye drops as a percaution.

Two workers were moving a galvanized pipe across the shop floor. One worker was bent over in an awkward position when he went to push the pipe. He pushed on the pipe and felt a slight pull in his abdomen. EE suffered a pulled muscle in his abdomen and was seen by a doctor and is on light duty.

On July 30, 2009, employee was changing a return roller on a conveyor when the roller in his left hand fell away, pulling his left arm and shoulder. The injury was reported on August 3, 2009 but employee did not seek medical treatment until August 19th at which time he was placed on restricted duty, making this a reportable injury.

This accident just became reportable. Employee was stepping down on a work platform. His left leg gave way as he was stepping down, twisting his left knee. He remained full duty and did not want to see a doctor, however, it continued to bother him so on 2/17/09 he went to the clinic and it was discovered that he had a meniscus tear.

Employee had a reaction and was taken to the clinic for a shot. The substance causing the reaction is unknown. He was not bitten by an insect nor were there any chemicals. I phoned MSHA and they advised that this is a reportable accident because he had a shot for treatment and it occurred on mine property.

Employee was beating frozen sand off of equipment his hand slipped, and his right index finger hit the gate which cut his finger. He required stitches in his finger. This has not affected his job but the doctor said to keep it dry.
