Panther Creek Mining LLC · Struck by flying object

The employee was tramming company ID 537 CIA scoop when EE trammed over a piece of four-inch driscoplex 6300 water pipe approximately 17ft long causing the loose end to enter the scoop operator compartment striking EE. The employee received first aid and was transported to the surface before being transported via ambulance to CAMC General where EE was pronounced deceased.

EE was attempting to identify the problems with the scrubber motor on the JM 6911 continuous miner on the number one section in the number one entry when EE came in contact with electricity. The employee was brought to the surface and transported by ambulance to a Hospital where EE later passed away from the injury sustained from the incident.
